The whole plant reaches 10 to 15m in height.

Leaf:
12 to 25cm in length, with 9 to 13 leaflet, rarely 7; stipe 1.5 to 3cm in length; stipule caducous; leaflet coriaceous, ovate or elliptical, those at the base always small and broad ovate, 4 to 7cm in length, 2 to 3cm in width, attenuate at the apex, obtuse, 10 to 12 lateral vines on both side, all vines are convex.

Flowers:
Auxially panical, consistes of cymes, 8 to 10cm in length, 6 to 7cm in width; light yellow or corolla,

Fruits:
Elliptic pod, lorate, 4.5 to 8cm in length, 1.5 to 1.8cm in width, with hair at the base, coriaceous pip, usu. 2 seeds, seldom 1.

Blossom:
Jun. to Jul.

Comments:
Heartwood of which is excellent matiral for furniture, the couterpart of whose root is employed as anodyne.
